This was a statement made by a protestant minister in Germany describing his experience under Hitler's Nazi regime and he said describing what happened. First they came for the communists, but I was not a communist so I did nothing. Then they arrested the social democrats and the trade unionists, but I did nothing because I was not a social democrat or a trade unionist. Then they arrested the Jews and then the Catholics, but since I was neither a Jew nor a Catholic, I did nothing. At last they came and arrested me and there was no one left to do anything about it.
